Empowering Communities Through Safety and Wellness

For over 30 years, Tronox has been a catalyst for positive change in the Shire of Dandaragan, exemplifying our core values in every step of our journey. Our ongoing support has not only created opportunities for community organizations but has also become a testament to our dedication to operating safe, reliable, and responsible facilities.

In collaboration with the Shire of Dandaragan, where our Cooljarloo Mine is located, we have established the joint Sports and Recreation Facilities Fund. This fund stands as a beacon for our commitment to creating value for stakeholders by assisting local sporting clubs and community organizations in providing or enhancing sports and recreational facilities, aligning seamlessly with our organizational integrity.

Administered by the Shire, our partnership involves matching contributions up to $30,000 annually, a tangible demonstration of shared accountability. The grant allocation committee, consisting of representatives from each town within the Shire, the Shire President, and a Tronox representative, ensures a fair and impactful distribution of funds.

Over the fund’s lifetime, we are proud to announce that it has delivered close to $800,000 in grants, totaling over AU$ 2.3 million, reflecting our commitment to doing the right work the right way in every aspect of our business.

In the latest round of funding in 2023, we celebrated the accomplishment of 10 diverse projects across the four towns in the Shire. Each project, such as installing safety features, enhancing community spaces, and supporting health and wellness improvements, signifies our adaptability, decisiveness, and effectiveness in creating positive change.

At Tronox, we believe in building our organization with talented individuals who make a positive difference. The projects funded in 2023, including an IT upgrade for the Dandaragan Football Club and a ceiling fan installation at the Jurien Sports Rec Center, demonstrate our investment in the success of our communities.

We continue to build mutually rewarding relationships with the Shire of Dandaragan and the broader community through trustworthy and reliable partnerships. Together, we celebrate the joy of working collaboratively to accomplish great things, ensuring a safer, healthier, and more thriving environment for all.
