On Royal Flying Doctor Day (14 May), Tronox is proud to celebrate the incredible work of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and our long-term partnership with the RFDS Far West NSW team.

For nearly 100 years, the RFDS has been a lifeline for people living and working in remote Australia. Every two minutes, someone relies on their services — from emergency aeromedical retrievals to primary healthcare, mental health support and dental services. A vital part of this work is the delivery of culturally appropriate healthcare to First Nations communities, helping improve access, outcomes and continuity of care across the region.

With Tronox operations located in some of the most remote parts of New South Wales, access to reliable healthcare is critical. The RFDS Far West NSW team supports our people and contractors, while also providing essential services to local communities — ensuring distance is never a barrier to quality care. Tronox is proud to support the RFDS because we believe everyone deserves access to healthcare, no matter where they live.

Our partnership goes beyond funding — it’s about working together to improve safety, health, and strengthen regional communities. We’re also proud to support RFDS initiatives such as the Rural Women’s GP Program, which improves access to high-quality female GP services for women in remote and regional areas through fly‑in clinics and telehealth.

“As we operate in remote Australia, Tronox recognizes the vital role of reliable healthcare in these regions. We have a long-standing association with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which has supported our team members when they’ve become unwell at our sites,” said Peter Collins, Site Director-Eastern Operations. “Maintaining this partnership is an honour. It’s not only about backing an essential service, but also about safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our people and the communities we work alongside.”

On this Royal Flying Doctor Day, we extend a heartfelt thank you to the pilots, doctors, nurses, and support crews of RFDS Far West NSW. Your dedication makes a real and lasting difference for our people, and our communities in remote Australia. We also congratulate the RFDS on their upcoming 90 years of service in NSW and look forward to marking this milestone together.
