Product Stewardship

Tronox is committed to observing all applicable product-related laws and regulations regarding the safe production, handling, transportation, and use of our products. We apply responsible standards where product safety laws and regulations do not exist.

We take responsibility for the protection of the environment and ensure our products are of the highest quality, safe for use, and have minimal negative impact on the environment throughout their lifecycles.

EU Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH), was adopted on December 18, 2006, and became effective on June 1, 2007. The purpose of REACH is to better protect human health and the environment through improved understanding and management of risks associated with chemical substances. REACH requires chemical manufacturers to register their products manufactured or sold in the European market, and to communicate important safety information to downstream users.

Tronox successfully completed the registration of its titanium dioxide products with the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) on November 16, 2010. This registration ensures the uninterrupted supply of Tronox titanium dioxide pigment to the European Union, thereby relieving downstream users of REACH obligations.
