TRONOX R-U-2
R-U-2 is an untreated rutile pigment that is lattice-stabilized with alumina. It offers flexibility for multiple applications.
In coatings applications, it offers better weatherability than an unstabilized pigment, but lower weatherability than surface treated pigments. It is recommended for primers and undercoats, emulsion paints, road marking paints, and inexpensive DIY coatings.
In paper applications, it offers better lightfastness than an unstabilized pigment, but less lightfastness than surface-treated pigments, such as R-PL-1. It can be used for the pigmentation of colored decorative and laminated papers, when the limited lightfastness plays no role.
