Mr. Casey assumed his current leadership roles at Tronox in October 2011. Prior, Casey co-chaired a Tronox board-level committee tasked with exploring strategic opportunities for the company. The committee’s findings helped spur Tronox’s acquisition of Exxaro Mineral Sands, a combination that has made Tronox the world’s largest fully integrated titanium dioxide producer.
As CEO, Mr. Casey has worked to expand Tronox through the acquisition of the company’s Alkali business and to align the organization with global economic trends such as industrialization and increased consumerism in emerging markets. He continues to streamline company-wide operations and ensure a more balanced and stable revenue mix.
Mr. Casey brings to Tronox extensive experience as an executive. His former responsibilities include chairman of the board, director and CEO positions in a variety of companies, most recently as chief executive officer of Integra Telecom, Inc. Earlier, he served as the CEO and director of Current Group LLC (a clean energy technology company).
He has also served as managing director of Merrill Lynch & Co, and was a partner at the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky. A native of Boston, Mr. Casey graduated from Boston College and The George Washington University, National Law Center.
