Tronox acquired the Uerdingen titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment plant from Bayer in 1998. The Tronox Uerdingen plant has an annual production capacity of 107,000 tonnes of titanium dioxide. The facility uses the sulfate process to produce pigments used in plastics, paint, paper and other specialty industries.

- Approximately 50 contractors are employed on a daily basis.

- The plant has had no reportable environmental incidents during the past 14 years.
- Tronox places high priority on safe working practices, risk management and full compliance with all applicable statutory requirements. Safety standards are audited regularly internally and by external experts and authorities.

- The facility has ISO 9001:2000 certification for quality management from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a global nongovernmental organization that promotes consistent standards and provides external oversight.

- Tronox is located in the Bayer Uerdingen Chemical Park and is integrated into the common emergency management system for all chemical park partners. This includes:
