Tronox's largest manufacturing facility and one of Mississippi's biggest industrial operations, the Hamilton titanium dioxide pigment facility is the third-largest of its kind in the world, with an annual capacity of approximately 225,000 tonnes at year-end 2007. Employees produce titanium dioxide using Tronox's proprietary chloride process.
The facility also includes an electrolytic plant that produces sodium chlorate used in an environmentally preferred pulp-bleaching process by the pulp and paper industry.

Safety and Environmental Achievements
- The facility is a Star worksite. Star is the highest level of recognition for outstanding health and safety management under the Voluntary Protection Program of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Quality
- The plant has ISO 9001 certification for quality management from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a global nongovernmental organization that promotes consistent standards and provides external oversight.
- In addition, it achieved ISO 14000 certification for environmental management.
In the Community
- Tronox has implemented an extensive reforestation project at the facility.
- The company and employees support local United Way organizations through annual campaigns.
- An active community advisory panel of business and community leaders meets every other month to discuss plant activities, monitor safety and environmental issues, and address community concerns.
