Botlek, Netherlands

Tronox's Netherlands plant is based in the Botlek area of Rotterdam. Production at this site started in 1960 under the name of "Titaandioxide Fabriek," which later became TDF Tiofine B.V.

In 1990, the sulfate process was replaced by Tronox's proprietary chloride process, and Tronox acquired the plant in 2000. At year-end 2007, the plant's annual capacity was 90,000 tonnes.
